Huang Bing Yin was born in China's Shangdong province, earned a bachelor's degree from China Central Academy of Fine Arts during his tenure between 2005-2009. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions since then, including A Wall at the Holy Oriental Art Gallery in Beijing last year (his debut solo), and across China and Hong Kong at esteemed venues like Beijing National Art Museum of China and Hubei Museum of Art. Huang currently lives and works in Beijing.

Huang Bing Yin believes that the most important lesson he learned in college is to have your own ideas, independent from the foundations of painting. Huang's Museum series is the biggest in scale he has created to date. He thought up the idea when he noticed that many works had beautiful frames, especially works by foreign artists, but that often the frames were even more attractive that the paintings they had.

Huang Began to take an interest in this contradictory situation, and thus the Museum series was born. When drawing the frames, Huang used a process that Rembrandt used to draw skin and clothes; first painting layer of gray and then painting the scenes over it, making them look accidental yet vividly realistic, despite them being two-dimensional.

Most of Huang's work center around the theme of bondage and oppression, like the material, spiritual and environmental seduction with which the generation from the 80's generation struggled with; they reflect reality, frustration and ambivalence.
